IGC/GIC Colloquium 2026
Chant: yesterday and today
July 26-28, 2025.
St. George’s Church, 134 Emerson Street, Hamilton, Ontario.

IGC/GIC is pleased to announce our 2026 Colloquium featuring the liturgy of the Office and mass for the three-day period July 26, 27, 28.

On the 26th we will start in the evening with registrations, Compline and hopefully a short rehearsal for matins of the 27th.

We will observe the Hours of the Divine Office and the Mass. The chanting will be in Latin. Lessons at matins will be sung in English.

Matins will be from the Nocturnale romanum of Holger Peter Sandhofe and the other offices from the Antiphonale monasticum of Solesmes. The chants for the Mass will be from the Graduale triplex.

Over the three days we will explore the singing of the mass using the adiastematic neumes and tuning with a monochord.

Registration fees, including IGC/GIC membership fee, full text and music book, and two luncheons are as follows:

Regular, EARLY -BIRD: $80; after July 1: $100 Canadian dollars

Low-income (self-determined), EARLY-BIRD: $70; after July 1: $80 Canadian dollars.

All materials (text and music) will be provided in print. Due to printing constraints, registrants after July 15 may not be able to have a full printed copy of the program.

Delegates can take advantage of the many dining options available in the immediate area of St. George’s. Delegates are welcome to dine together for the final banquet (a la carte).

St. Georges Church is fully accessible. Parking is available on the neighbourhood streets.

Although we will begin each day at 7:00 a.m. with matins, delegates are free to come and go as they wish–not everyone is able to be present at such an early hour!
